PURPOSE
The Larimer County Colorado Genealogical Society, a non-profit organization,
was formed in 1974 to:
- promote an interest in genealogy and family history.
- encourage and instruct our members in genealogical research methods including
careful documentation and the maintenance of quality genealogical standards.
- locate, preserve and index public and private genealogical records
and make such records available.
- assist and support any genealogical library in Colorado which is
open to the public.
MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES
- Monthly Meetings - Larimer County Genealogical Society meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the
month at the Harmony Library, Community Meeting Room, 4616 S. Shields Street,
Fort Collins CO. No meeting in December.
Books published by the Society, notices and information sheets are always displayed.
Each meeting includes a speaker who presents a talk on a variety of
genealogical topics.
- Newsletter - The society newsletter is published six times a
year. Current society news, news from other local societies and genealogical
research tips are published. Queries are accepted and are free to members.
Currently we are not publishing local records in our newsletter.

- Publications - Our Society has published a number of books including
a marriage index book, a land record index book and a series of four volumes
on the cemeteries in Larimer County. See

- Research - The Society provides a research service for distant
researchers.
Look-up research - that is, the society provides volunteer
research persons for simple records look-up. A donation to the Society would be greatly appreciated.

- Dues are based on the calendar year. Renewals are due by January 31.
After July 1st, new members may join for half price.
- Society Memberships allow for complete access to the Society's website and the current Society Newsletters.
