Family Tree Maker User's Group - Basic Training Part I
The first in a year long series on using the popular genealogy software Family Tree Maker 2009. Although the classes focus on the features of the current versions Family Tree Maker older versions will also be addressed. This class will cover the new Windows Vista ribbon menu format, the new screens, navigating the newly designed toolbars, details of the File and Help menu items, and entering family information into the family templates. Handouts will be available.

Annual Business Meeting
There will be a lot happening at the Annual Business Meeting this year. Leading the events will be the election of new officers and President Ken Goldsberry's annual message to members. Bob Larson will have several video presentations including the 2008 Society Highlights, our famous dessert social event and highlights from the recent colorful Beijing Olympics. There will be a raffle drawing for several great prizes!

Family Tree Maker User Group - Basic Training Part II

This class will cover using the Edit Menu: cut, copy & paste text items, find individuals, find and re-
place text, listing sources and editing master sources, adding and managing website bookmarks, go to individual history page; Us-
ing the People Menu: editing and deleting individuals, editing marriages and other individuals, fix relationship issues, copying
individuals to windows clipboard, inserting and moving children, and merging individuals. Entering personal information into
Notes, Facts, and Marriages in Family View. We'll spend extra time on entering images into the Source Textbox. Use of the Inter-
net will be used for listing images into each source.

"Writing To Capture Memories For Your Children and Grandchildren"
Presented by Sharon Greenlee, noted counselor, author and consultant. She has presented classes and workshops on this, and other topic for many years. She will present a brief overview of different and creative format for capturing those memories for your children and grandchildren. Sharon reminds us: "Our past is rich with memories of growing up, grandma's house, neighborhood fun, games we played, music we listened to and more.

LCGS Basement Bookshelf (BBS). The Larimer Genealogical Society (LCGS) is bringing back the Basement Bookshelf (BBS). The BBS is a list of genealogy books, CDs or other documents, which LCGS members and a few former
members have agreed to share with others.
The list is alphabetical, by title and includes title, author, some notes and a brief description of the contents (in most cases). Anyone interested in any of these listed publication, or has
any questions about the BBS should contact the Chairman of the BBS committee by emailing arapahoe88@frii.com or
phoning 970-482-8643; and the chairman will put you in contact with the owner of the item.

Thanks to Ginny Feagler, Librarian at the Fort Collins Regional Library District, the Genealogy Reference Books have been reviewed. The books reviewed in this list are located in the Genealogy Reference collection at the Main Branch of the Fort Collins Regional Library District. The book reviews include the title, call number, a description, and in some cases an explanation of the entries. Not all books in the Genealogy Reference collection have been reviewed. Harmony Library - but do not have
a means of transportation? or do not want to drive at night? or would like some company to go with?
Well the Society
has a group of volunteers ready to provide transportation. If you should need a ride,
please contact Kathy Patrick at 206-1664 and she will arrange for someone to pick you up.
A 48 hour notice
would be appreciated.
