Class: Analyzing Your Ancestry DNA

Class Description 

Have you taken an AncestryDNA Test recently? Do you understand the results? Are you getting the most out of these results? This class will provide a detailed review of AncestryDNA tests, will discuss what the results mean and how to use these results to advance your family history research. This class will help you identify and connect with your cousins that have also taken DNA tests.

Speaker Profile:

Glenn York

Glenn Has been doing genealogy research for over 35 years. Glenn likes to combine technology and genealogy. His current focus is on genetic genealogy. He took his first DNA test in 2005. He now manages DNA tests with all major testing companies for over 30 different family members. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a Masters degree in Telecommunications. He has attended courses at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG) and Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburg (GRIP).

Glenn facilitates the monthly DNA Study Groups for the Larimer County Genealogical Society, Northern Colorado, and the Advanced DNA group for Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies. He is a co-administrator of the BATES Y-DNA Surname and the Colonial Swedes Group projects at Family Tree DNA.

He is Past President of the Larimer County Genealogical Society and the delegate for Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies to the National Genealogical Society. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, Genealogical Speakers Guild, and many other genealogical and historical societies. He teaches genealogy classes and volunteers to help people with genealogy research at local libraries.
