Program Description
Glenn York will offer a presentation on locating your ancestral records at the National Archives. Numerous interactions between your ancestors and the federal government generated records that have been preserved by the National Archives. The National Archives operates fifteen research centers and seventeen Presidential Libraries/Museums. This presentation provides information on the preservation of these records by the federal government. We will explore the types of information in these records along with how you can locate and access them.
Presenter Profile
Glenn York is a professional genealogist with decades of research experience across the United States. He began genealogical research in the 1980s at the National Archives and Library of Congress.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in social science and a master’s degree in telecommunications and has completed more than a dozen genealogical institute courses.
Glenn has attended over a dozen week long Genealogical Institutes including the 2024 Gen-Fed Institute held in the National Archives in Washington DC.
He is a past President of the Larimer County Genealogical Society and serves as a delegate to the National Genealogical Society for the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies. Glenn York is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, Genealogical Speakers Guild, and many other historical and genealogical organizations.
