Program Information
Our scheduled program for the September meeting, Using Often Overlooked Repositories, We Tell Masa’s Story, had to be postponed. Instead on September 16th, Carol Cooke Darrow, CG, will present a program on For Better or Worse: Marriage, Separation and Divorce. Marriage, separation and divorce have shaped the lives of all of our ancestors and their descendants. What started out as a dream of love and happiness may have turned into a nightmare of arguments, separation, divorce or desertion. Record forms changed over the centuries and finding records of those events, both happy and sad, are the challenge of the genealogist.
Speaker Profile
Carol Cook Darrow is a lecturer, researcher and writer. She is a certified genealogist and past president of the Colorado Genealogical Society. She has written a book about researching tax records and enjoys teaching beginning genealogy and writing family histories. Additionally, Carol is a well-known presenter at genealogical society meetings and has recently been published in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly.
