July 14th Program

FT Analyzer Tool for Genealogists
Family Tree Analyzer is a completely FREE tool. Allows you to analyze your family tree to find where you have gaps, to find errors, and to view your family tree in new and interesting ways. See where your ancestors lived and moved over time with the maps feature. Find errors in your tree eg: children’s birthdates before parents were born. See lists of who is missing from census searches then click their name to automatically search on Ancestry, Find My Past, Familysearch etc. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Jean also uses EXCEL to additional sorting for comparisons.

Presenter Info: Jean Poland

Jean Poland

Jean is a member of our society and a technologist herself. Born in Laramie, Wyoming, Jean has lived in most of her life in Colorado, an also spent some time in New Jersey and California for work. She has been researching her family history in the United States, Canada and Germany for about seven years. She started her genealogy research as entertainment in the evening when her job took her to Salt Lake City every week for almost 2 years in the 1980’s with one 3” by 5” index card of everything our mother knew. After that time, Jean took thirty years off and started again in 2015.

This fall, Jean will be working with the residents at MacKenzie Place in Fort Collins to teach them how to start their genealogy.
