Consider joining our society! You will  benefit from the knowledge and experience of our members, while enjoying a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We are excited to meet anyone interested in Learning, Researching,  and enjoying our Fellowship.

Membership Benefits
 
Monthly Meetings – Our society meets at 10 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month in the Prairie Sage One room at the Fort Collins Senior Center either in-person or on Zoom. Our weekly email provides the handout and Zoom info. There is no meeting in December. Each meeting includes a speaker who presents a variety of genealogical topics. Presentation handouts and Society event flyers are always available at our meetings. Visitors are cordially invited to attend, but are encouraged to join our society to learn more about genealogy.

Multiple Monthly Events– See our Homepage, Events calendar, or Resources/Education webpage.Recordings – Our society records our business meetings and most of our monthly programs (when allowed) for our members for later playback up to 25 days after each meeting. An email is sent with a password for access to the past video. Newsletter –

Society Newsletter– The society newsletter is published bimonthly in January March, May, July, September, and November. Each issue is filled with our calendar of events, President’s message, Family History Center news, interesting websites, genealogy tidbits, technology, society news, genealogical research tips, our featured ancestor story, and past program highlights. Archived issues of the newsletter are also available on this website under Resources/Education menu tab. Members can receive the newsletter digitally via email or even download past issues from our website. 

Annual Classes and Workshops-– Our society offers up to 15 classes and workshops that are currently presented at two different library systems (Fort Collins & Loveland) in Larimer County. All events are FREE to the public except as noted. Visit our homepage, Annual Classes & Workshops webpage under our Events calendar, or Resources/Education menu tab to learn more our classes and to register for any class or workshop, 

Annual Holiday Party in December – Our society has an annual holiday party for our members and spouses. Lots of snacks and genealogy games are included.

Eight Study Groups – To encourage our goal in research, our society has eight study groups to learn more about Ancestry.com, British, Colonial, DNA, Family History Writing, German, Irish, & Technology. These study groups meet monthly either in-person or on Zoom. Visit our study group webpages to attend any of our study groups. visitors are welcome to join!

Society Membership Fees
Society Membership is from January 1st through December 31st. Renewals are due by January 31. After July 1st, new members may join for half price on the annual fees only!
2024 Membership Fees
Annual Dues: Individual……..$25.00
Family…………$35.00
Lifetime Dues: Individual… $250
Family……..$350

You have three options to join our society:
1) Attend our monthly meetings or classes and complete a membership application form with your check.
2) Download our society membership form and mail to our membership chair with your check.
3) Go to our membership application webpage and complete the online form and pay using your credit or debit card or mail the completed form to our membership chair with your check.

LCGS 50th Anniversary Cookbook

At our 50th Anniversary Celebration on May 18, we plan on providing our society’s 50th anniversary cookbook with 54 wonderful ancestor recipes given by 25 of our almost chef like members for a donation. Each recipe has an interesting story of how and where it came from. Many ancestor recipes came from overseas provided by our members.  …
