Program Description
If one has Revolutionary War ancestors, or thinks they may have, the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Web Site is the place to start your research. Within the web site the Patriots Research System (PRS) is the portion of the site that can provide you with information about your Patriot based on applications made by previous descendants of your Patriot Ancestor.
The web site can provide you not only information about your Patriot; but can provide you with copies of previous applications submitted by other descendants. This, in turn, can provide you valuable facts about people in the same lineage that you are using to apply for SAR membership. Navigating the site is not very intuitive, so we will be providing tips and helpful hints to facilitate your research. We will also familiarize you with the SAR’s sister organization’s web site, The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
